About Dana Herrington

Idalou Middle School

Technology Department

Welcome, students and parents! My name is Dana Herrington, and I am excited and honored to be teaching Technology classes at Idalou Middle School for the 2022-2023 school year.

I graduated from Idalou High School in 1985 and received my B.S. in Secondary Education from Texas Tech University in 1990. In 2010, I received my Master of Education in Administration from Wayland Baptist University.  I am happy to be starting my ninth year at Idalou ISD. My husband Lex and I have two sons, Emery and Everett. Emery recently graduated from the United States Naval Academy and  Nuclear Power Training school in Charleston, South Carolina. Emery will be stationed in Bangor, Washington, for his military assignment. Everett will be a senior at Texas A&M University and is majoring in Mechanical Engineering.

I believe together as teachers, students, and parents, we can accomplish the goals we set in academics and our extra-curricular activities at Idalou Middle School. We will work hard throughout the year to achieve high learning standards. I am eager for your child to learn as much as possible about technology and the application of the software used in class. I firmly believe that every student has the potential to learn and excel through instruction, hard work, and commitment. I am not only committed to giving your child a strong educational background that will help them complete the year but also to giving them a foundation to build upon for years to come. This will be a year filled with excitement and learning!

Go Wildcats!
